L is for Love, such a complicated mess, such a joy to experience. Contradictory, complicated, beautiful, and sometimes painful. Love is universal and comes in many forms, each to be relished in your own special way.
What to say about love when so much has already been written? Books and films, poems and art. The depiction of love is constant, the quest for love seems endless. But let’s focus on love in its’ purest form, leaving the romantics to actors and heroines in books.
Love transforms and heals, is a bond between two people, three people, four… The proud love you feel for a friend, the gushing love you feel for your cat or your dog. The grumbling love you feel for parents. This is a love that asks no questions, is unavoidable. A love that is untainted by physical attraction. The love you feel for your partner, a feeling that steadily increases over the years after the initial passion has passed away to visit younger folk.
A love for books, for chocolate, for nature, a passion that courses through your veins and sustains you through hard moments. The kind of love that is there, within you and does not waver in the face of trouble or dark moments. A love that feeds you and fills you with satisfaction. Clean and unadulterated.
With L is for Love, we shine the light on raw love, true emotion, a stream of sensation that burbles through each of us. This love leaves a mark, transforming you as a person, growing and evolving, an impulse to be a better person. A quiet quickening of the heart, a flash of emotion.
