R is for Red Berries - The Alphabet Imaginarium by Vera Ciria

R is for Red Berries, so luscious and juicy. Bursting with flavour, a curious sensation and texture for the tongue. A childhood fascination that never seems to end. A promise of delicious desserts and rambling walks in forests, of stained mouths and hands.

There is something about the colour, the texture, the tiny seeds… From raspberries to strawberries, cranberries to cherries, common berries that we love and know, spanning through to the lesser known red mulberry and lingonberries, so popular in Sweden.

Used to create dyes throughout history, many are now considered super foods. But you probably know all that already. The fascination is key. Remember how you lusted over strawberries when you were little and just couldn’t get enough? Baked into a tart, thickly spread on toast in the form of jam, sitting shiny and sugary in a bowl?

With R is for Red Berries, we travel back in time when we enjoy such delicious and simple fruit. Red berries make life special, so simple yet able to provoke such memories, such abandon, such joy. So take some time, now is the perfect moment, the perfect season. Kick back and relax with a bowl of ruby reds.
